DIY ~ Rodarte Inspired Barbed Wire Metal Headband

It was cloudy and raining for the first time in a while this morning, so I decided it's probably time to embrace Autumn and create a tough F/W accessory to go with all my cardigans and jumpers.
I loved the RodarteRodarte F/W13 accessories along with Versace's punk influence.

For this DIY you will need;
Round-Nose Pliers
Cutting Pliers or Scissors
A plain headband
Flexible Wire
Metal or Super Glue
Bulldog Clips

1. Cut out enough flexible wire to go around the headband 3 times, fold it in to a half length, curl and twist one end with the round-nose pliers to create a knot, then twist the length of wire to the desired consistency.
2. Attach one end of the twisted wire on to the headband, either with glue or thread them if the headband has holes in the ends.
3. Cut out 7cm pieces of untwisted wire to make the curled 'barbs', curl using the round-nose pliers, turn the pliers in a circular motion rather than the metal itself, to get a tight consistent 'barb'.
Although these will be single 'barbs', I found they looked more realistic the thicker they are and if both ends point up in a similar direction. I made up 6 'barbs' for my headband.
4. Thread the 'barbs' through the twisted wire one at a time, placing and holding them with glue until they are set in place.
5. Attach the other end of the twisted wire on to the headband to finish.
