I personally didn't feel like a stranger to blogging when we were given the task to start reflecting and recording our work and theory tasks in the form of a blog.
I often use blogs for research and inspiration and understand the creative influence the freedom of internet blogging has on our generation.
I found it hard deciding on a style and format, as i think when i look at others that every detail can communicate something different.
I am still trying to find a balance in my posts between study and exhibition posts and showing my own persona progress, something i really want to get in to.
I want to create posts that are totally aesthetically enjoyable.
Bloom magazine's imagery is the style i aspire to,
another blog that i love for that kind of lay out is
http://luxirare.com who does innovative fashion design and cooking
The blog has helped me reflect on the theory-side of my course and realise how it can give depth to my own concepts.
For example Grayson Perry and The Power of Making exhibits made me not only appreciate that i am a maker but that handmade design is being appreciated more and more, a reaction i believe to the increasing negativity towards our mass production lifestyles.
Having a blog for college work and reflection has helped me realise the impact and influence of keeping such 'journals' for erosional and professional use.
Its a way to keep engaged and up to date with achieving your own goals much like a reflective journal or research file.
